This project consisted of 12 murals, one in each of the 12 towns in Niagara County, painted by 12 local artists. Inspired by the pandemic, the murals provided a safe family (small group) activity that promoted local tourism and the arts in a time when everything was closed. Each mural’s painted area is a black and white image that visitors can color in with chalk (available at nearby establishments). Metal plaques at each mural provide the locations of other murals in the series. Each mural promoted that area’s attractions, history, and activities.
